Join Us during our 100yr Celebration,be a part of the largest uniformed, volunteer organization in the world-- the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts. Scouting is a team effort: Scouts, parents, and adult leaders. The goal of Troop & Pack 171 is to provide an environment in which the Scout can become physically strong, mentally alert, and morally straight. With parental assistance, the troop & pack can make this goal a reality at the same time making Scouting fun. Use to be a scout? Become a Leader ! Have a child? get them started with sometime that will last their lifetime.
We are located in Presque Isle in North East part of Maine. Our Scout Hall Building is located on the same parking lot next to the Grant United Methodist Church

BSA 100th Anniversary TreesThe tree is an important symbol of the family—a family tree, the life of a tree that spans generations, the belief that a tree will continue to provide, long after we're gone.
Because of that symbolism—and a shared mission for service and environmental stewardship—we could think of no better Generations Connection partner than the Arbor Day Foundation! Arbor Day has designated official BSA 100th Anniversary trees for anyone to enjoy. Order yours at http://www.arborday.org/boyscouts.
For every BSA 100th Anniversary tree purchased from Arbor Day, another will be planted in Montana at the newly created Boy Scouts of America Centennial Forest. The Centennial Forest will aid replanting of the Flathead National Forest following recent fires. |

Before there was a forest, there was a tree. Before the tree, there was a seed. And, before the seed could grow, it needed the right climate and care to reach great heights.
If you are a parent, a volunteer, BSA staff member, or Scouting supporter, you have helped to sow a seed of greatness in every Scout whose life you have touched. How well you take care of a seed impacts how well it can grow. And after a century of planting character and integrity into the hearts and minds of our country’s young people, more than 100 million Scouts have grown into some of the nation’s greatest leaders, advocates, citizens, parents, and friends.
From the first Scout in 1910, the Boy Scouts of America has created a legacy. From one tree today, we can create a forest to witness the next 100 years of Scouting.
We invite you to help in the planting of 100,000 trees, creating a strong, living symbol of Scouting’s century of contributions.
